You
probably know me as Lynne. You may know me by my Spiritual Name, Samadhi.
Names matter, sometimes. Samadhi is a name that was assigned to me simply
because it reminds you of your destiny. Samadhi is silence. Samadhi is
the entry into illumined awareness.

JANUARY TASK
Find the "blue pearl". Where is it?
Mystics
say that in the stillness of meditation when the storm of thoughts stop
a blue light radiates from the center of their skull. This is the ultimate
union with eternity, and the goal of every seeker.
A
Tibetan monk agreed to an experiment. He allowed scienctist to monitor
his brain while he was meditating. His mind was so quiet that the red
and yellow flashes of a normal thinking brain disappeared. On the monitor
the scientists could see a small blue pearl of light.
The ancient wisdom of the sages which described the moments of Samadhi,
of enlighenment, as the "blue pearl" was seen on the brain scan
monitor. Pretty Cool!

Suggestions
for 2008
Task
for October (woops missed a quarter in time. Summer Break!!)
Let's change-up your sitting meditation practice.
Do at least 5 minutes of Qi Gong, Movement Yoga, or Martial Arts BEFORE
"sitting".
When you sit, in your mind create a peaceful image in nature by a body
of glassy water where there is no wind. Use that as your yantra for stillness.
When you meditate use chanting. Find a good simple chant on CD that uses
ancient tones, such as ommm. or a chant that uses an enlightened beings
name, such as Sri Rama, Jai Rama.
After you meditation create a perfect mind set for
your day, and create a daily jingle, such as "change your thoughts,
change your life." Bow and thank eternity.
During the day, notice negative thoughts and replace them with
your jingle!
Task
for June
It is SUMMER! Spend time outside
in the sunshine. Play at the shoreline. Swim! Laugh! Be grateful as you
play in this incredible San Diego Paradise. Add a movement Yoga to your
practice. I am adding Qi Gong. Remember, Yoga is Union, it is a way to
get out of duality and into the highest formless Union.
Task
for May
Listen to yourself talk. When
you notice that your conversation is about YOU being RIGHT, stop talking!
Task
for April
On Gossip. Don't! IF
you must talk about anyone, at least be positive, or Don't talk about
them!
Task
for March
2008 is your year. Let your
dark places burn away. Let the emotions that hold you hostage burn away.
You are human, and you have emotions, thank God. Imagine life without
emotions! However, you and I have stored our emotions in dark places.
We hold grudges, we hold on to negative emotions, and we let our thoughts
recycle those dark shadows again and again. Stop!
Let those negative emotions burn until they extinguish. Push away with
great vigor those thoughts that hold onto those dark shadows. Do this,
and you will experience a shift in perception. Instead of judging people
and seeing their faults, you will see their light.
Task
for February
2008 is a year of energy,
prepare to catch the ultimate wave! Sit in meditation, and cry to the
universe for purity, humility and wisdom. Don't be surprised if your life
is filled with challenges, both situational and emotional. Let the negative
emotions rise and consume you, let them burn through, they will. Don't
stuff them, or deny their existence. Once you can take the pain no longer,
or the heat no longer, ask eternity to help you let it go. She will!
Task
for January
Pick a time for morning meditation, and consistently sit at that time.
Until you sit in Samadhi each time you meditate, apply this technique:
train your mind, disicpline where it resides while you meditate.
It is unlikely that you will just 'sit in silence'. While you wait for
that level of advanced practice to happen, you focus on powerful, bright
points. Your chakras, an enlightened teacher, an island of light and enlightenment.
When thoughts slip into your mind, which they will do every 3 minutes
or so, you replace all and any thoughts with your point of focus. IF YOUR
point of focus is a chakra breath deeply into that chakra, pulling it
deeply into your spine on the exhale.

Suggestions
Task
for December
Tis the Season to be jolly, and thankful. Contemplate
this Question: Which person would you like to thank? Some person is the
'one' who has given you so much, given you the most. Write a note of thanks
to that person, and take the time to find a nice gift to give him/her
for the Holidays.
.Task
for November
Release stress in your body. Choose an exercise
and do it daily. The Vegas nerve releases stress when you breathe deeply.
Breathe deeply any time you feel stress during the day. Wet your lips
with your tongue and breathe deeply until your lips are dry. Each time
you have negative thoughts, which are generally useless, breathe deeply
four times and imagine that you are centering your mind, body, spirit.
Task
for September
Remind yourself that you are not who you 'were'.
You are not your old fears, old beliefs, old concepts of your 'self'.
Friends and family will try to hold you in the familiar and comfortable
you from the past. Remember that you are here, now. Stop defining yourself
in past definitions and patterns. Live in the moment, and shed the limits
of the old selves! THAT is liberation!
Task
for August
Pay
attention to your body. Correct your posture in meditation, when sitting,
driving, walking and working. Each time you correct your posture take
a full deep breath and be thankful for (you fill in the blank). There
are so many things in your life that deserve a thank you. Be grateful!
Task
for July
Make your Bed impeccably. Clean your kitchen in the
same zen mind. Why? It sets the stage for creating an uncluttered environment,
physically and in your mind. When making your bed and cleaning your kitchen
each day, stay focused and stay on task. If you want to experience still
mind in your meditation you must pay attention to developing a disciplined
mind. Zen mind and Zazen (sitting meditation) must be partnered if you
are to experience the magic of the diamond mind. One is no more important
than the other. One without the other lacks the power you need to move
into silence.
