Students and teachers come together to assist each other in the adventure of awakening. There is a structure in place, a set of roles that seems to be required. The teacher, in theory, has advanced their study to a level that is useful to students.

Students who have come to sit with the teacher may have some vague reason that explains why they "found" a teacher. Frequently the students have no clue what brought them to this place in their life.

So, the structure provides both student and teacher a place to learn how to step out of time and place. It provides both with a forum for discussion, and a parternership for trips into the unknown.

If you are just beginning, you may have an idea that meditation and the practice is a relaxation tool that helps people get calm and happy. Okay, that is one aspect of the practice. But the real essence of the study is filled with adventures into worlds of energy, power and light. Thousands of possibilities await the awakening students. Thousands of states of minds-- worlds within worlds.

A word of advice. Don't kid yourself. You have no idea what lies in the secret realms of the power of silence. Your thoughts can only touch the surface, and your conscious mind cannot begin to fathom the depths of the waters of the nagual, or unknown.

You are venturing into uncharted waters. Those who have gone before left maps of their journey. Those maps are translations of the mysteries of eternity, and they are useful because they point the way.

Once you enter the waters of the formless, you are on your own. Teachers guide and direct you, make suggestions about how to survive your journey with a sense of humor and a warrior's stance.

Ultimately, just as you face your own death alone, you face your journey into the nagual alone. Because you must depend on YOU, it is important to listen carefully to the teachings about wisdom, balance, power, and impeccability. These lessons will improve the quality of your journey.
